I too, hear America’s song.
The ones who tire of famine and poverty;
The young;
The old;
As the fortunate pass;
Sparing nothing but a hollow glance;
We become deaf to these people’s songs;
They yearn;
They sing;

The ones who bask in the pit of wealth;
The known;
The selfish;
They encounter the unfortunate;
Remaining ignorant to their desperation;
They become deaf to America’s song;
They yearn;
They sing;
